Drinkable and a good all purpose red - 2006 Bogle Vineyards, Petite Sirah
After giving it breathing room, I sampled the bottle prior to dinner.
I drank it with spaghetti Squash with Parmesian and Cinnamon stuffed with Ground Pork seasoned with sage, apple, garlic and onion.
It gained some personality after about an hour but was more complex after almost two hours after opening.
Not too full bodied at first taste, but subtle, smooth and easy on the nose and going down the pallet.
It smells good but unless you grew up where blackberries grow, you would not be able to describe it!
Some other Petite Sirahs I have enjoyed have made me wonder where the Petite came from in the Petite Sirah. They were very big.
This one begins small (in taste) and becomes a good Petite Sirah if you are experimenting with different reds.
Drinkable and a good all purpose red. I would serve it to my friends without question but open it early and give over an hour to breathe.
Very drinkable and yummy.
