Very true to its varietal .. 2006 Rodney Strong, Russian River Valley, Pinot Noir
I drank it with fresh cod with cracker topping. Pouring directly into the glass (minimal air time).
Very true to its varietal ..light in color but medium in body. Immediate aroma red fruit and rose. Bigger taste than its color would suggest with red current and vanilla as well as a lot of acidity. Just a bit of a tart impression on the finish (that continues nicely).
Not a faux Pinot like some of the new world wines I have tasted, but also no sense of “barn yard” that can be typical of some old world Pinot Noirs.
Recommended (if you like a wine true to its varietal)
